the service

tapcircle is an app and website operated by Strivebit Technologies Inc, 1059, Nemapatti, Saidpur, Bulandshahr, UP, 203411, India ("tapcircle", "we", or "us") that lets you keep one living card, catch the people you meet by scanning their card or qr, choose what each person sees, sort people into circles, open circles other people can join, and pass people along with timed shares. by creating an account or using tapcircle, you agree to these terms.

eligibility

you must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract where you live. if you're using tapcircle for an organisation, you have authority to bind that organisation.

your account and your card

  • you're responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for what happens under your account.
  • the details you put on your card and the people you catch must be ones you have a right to hold — for example, because someone gave you their card or scanned yours.
  • you're responsible for choosing what each person sees and for any share you send.

acceptable use

you agree not to:

  • use tapcircle to harass, stalk, or spam anyone;
  • catch or share someone's details without a lawful basis, or in breach of applicable data law;
  • scan or import contacts in bulk for purposes tapcircle isn't built for, like building a marketing list;
  • reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service;
  • use tapcircle in a way that breaks the law or these terms.

pass along and shares

when you pass someone along, you send a timed share of a card. shares expire after the period you set. if you share someone else's card, you are responsible for having their permission to do so. tapcircle is not responsible for what recipients do with information you choose to share.

circles other people can join

you can open a circle for others to join, and you can join one someone else opened. joining shares a snapshot of the fields you pick with every member of that circle — up to 500 people. the snapshot is frozen when you join, and leaving the circle does not withdraw it from members who already have it. the privacy policy explains this in full; read it before you join one.

if you open a circle others can join, you also agree that:

  • you are responsible for how you use the details members share with you, and for the circle you run;
  • you will not open a circle to collect details for marketing, resale, or any purpose the people joining would not expect;
  • reports from members come to you, not to us — you are expected to act on them in good faith, and we may step in or close a circle if you do not;
  • if you delete your account, ownership passes to another member and that person takes on these responsibilities. if there is no other member, the circle is deleted.

permissions you grant tapcircle

tapcircle may request camera, contacts, and photo permissions, each of which is optional. tapcircle does not request location access. see the privacy policy for what each permission does and how to revoke it.

accounts and deletion

you can delete your account at any time — tap your avatar in the top corner of the contacts screen → account → delete account — or by emailing support@tapcircle.app. deletion is permanent and removes your card, the people you caught, and your own circles. snapshots you shared into circles other people can join stay with those circles, and a circle you owned passes to another member; see the privacy policy for retention details.

we may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms or create a risk to tapcircle or others. we'll tell you why where we can.

the service is provided "as is"

tapcircle is provided "as is" and "as available". to the extent permitted by law, we exclude warranties about the service being uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

liability

to the extent permitted by law, tapcircle and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

changes to the service and these terms

we may update tapcircle and these terms. for significant term changes we will notify you in the app or by email. continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

governing law

these terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
